He’s there on time and ready to go – asking where he needs to be. As we talk through what’s about to happen, you can tell he is excited. We walk him to the location, ask that he covers his eyes and wait while we go get her.
She comes out with her gift in her hand, ready to start the big day. As she reaches out to tap him on the shoulder you can tell she is excited. With one touch, he turns around to see his daughter dressed in white and immediately starts crying.
It was one of the sweetest Daddy-Daughter first looks I’ve ever photographed. He cried, he clapped, he gave her a big hug and told her she looked beautiful, which she did. You could tell he was proud of her, of the woman and mom she had become. He was excited to celebrate her and the life she was starting with Matthew. It’s moments like that on a wedding day, that make you stop and pause and realize why you love weddings so much – they bring out the best in people.
The rest of the day went off without a hitch. The bridesmaids looked stunning, the groomsmen were all dressed and ready on time. Summer looked amazing in her dress with her veil and train that followed behind her wherever she went. Not a hair out of place and embracing the Georgia heat that lingers a little longer than it should in September.
Southern Bridle Farms was the perfect host to this joyful wedding, with its pecan-lined dirt road and courtyards with perfect light. Matthew’s brother officiated the wedding in a way that only a sibling could, making people laugh, but also appreciate the couple they were there to celebrate. The whole day I heard people talking about how perfect Summer and Matthew were together and how happy they were to see them get married.
Just one more amazing wedding in my 2019 season! I am so grateful to have been a part of such a thoughtful and happy day. Summer and Matthew, I hope these pictures remind you of your deep love for one another and take you back to one of the happiest days ever.
Thank you to these amazing vendors who made this day possible.
